Today is Kartik sud 10, Samvat 2066. On this historic tithi 207 years ago in Samvat 1859 (Friday 5 November 1802), Muktanand Swami composed and performed the arti of Bhagwan Swaminarayan in Kalvani, Saurashtra. In the arti’s verses Muktanand Swami extolled Bhagwan Swaminarayan’s glory as Purushottam (Supreme God). In remembrance of this event, many devotees worldwide celebrate this utsav by performing a samuh arti at their nearest mandir, satsang centre or at home.
