Typhoid is the scourge of modern day India. Every year millions of people fall prey to this dreaded disease. A few die and many have to pay in terms of money, manpower and future health of their body. The main cause of this illness is poor sanitary conditions, which are rampant in India. Keeping this in mind, Pramukh Swami Health Services decided to carry out an immunization campaign in Amdavad and other major cities. With generous support from the Zydus division of Cadila, the makers of Vactyph, 8000 people were immunized in the week commencing 24-12-2000.
