& New Year's Eve

All join in the singing of ' Ame sau Swamina balak...'

Based on the theme 'Dharmo Rakshti Rakshitaha - If You Preserve Values Then Values Will Preserve You', the 4th Annual National Winter Shibir held at London Mandir was attended by over 450 kishores and kishoris.

The shibir began with chanting of Sanskrit slokas. The program featured videos portraying the distressing state of today's society and how traditional Indian values and morals are the solution to these problems. Videos, showing 'India -the mother of civilizatiion'. 'Glorious India' and 'Vande Mataram' revealed the diversity and depth of India - past and present. Inida points the dharma as the panacea for our problems. And to uphold dharma, a guru is essential. Following several speeches and presentations focussing on Swamishri's as an upholder of dharma, a special -recorded video blessings by Pramukh Swami Maharaj was relayed.

The shibir concluded with pledges to practice basic and important values in daily life.

After dinner, the New Year's Eve program began. A variety of light-hearted presentations, quizzes, videos and skits provided entertaining enlightenment. As midnight approached, videos of Swamishri's hectic vicharan during 2001 and blessings were shown. As 2002 began, everyone joined in the Swaminarayan Mahamantra dhun for world peace, Swamishri's health and prosperity for all in the New Year.
