Summary of Initial Relief Efforts

Villages under Gadhada Mandir (Bhavnagar District)
Over 17 towns and villages
Relief Work in - Bhavnagar. Gadhada, Sajanavadar, Lakhanka, Ishvariya, Valbhipur, Gadhadi, Gundala, Melana, Mota Jinjavadar, Pacche gam, ohishala, Kanpar, Navania, Jaliya, Monpar, Navania, Ravania and other villages.
 
Food Distribution
Hot Meals 16,100 hot meals 3 times a day using 6,046kg of foodstuff. Different items each day include Shiro, Fulvadi, Rotli Shak, Dar-Bhat, Khaman, Batata Pova, Hot Tea, etc.
Family Food Kit 1,053 kits of 21kg raw foodstuff (10-day supply) distributed per family. Includes 10kg wheat flour, 2.5kg khichadi, 5kg potatoes, 1kg sugar, 1kg vegetable oil, 200g tea, and 1 kg assorted spices.
Instant Food Packets 7,850 250g-food packets of sukhadi, bundi and gathiya
Bulk Raw Foodstuff 1,091kg of bulk raw foodstuff to villages
Drinking Water Pouches 5,000 pouches in Sajanavadar
Cattle Fodder 12,720kg of fodder for 800 animals
 
Housing and Clothing
Tents 82 heavy-duty waterproof tents to shelter 1,000 people
Tarpaulin 540 12x12ft sheets with 480kg of rope
Primus (stove) 230 Primus stove’s in Sajanavadar
Cookery & Dinnerware 176 new 37-piece steel cookery and dinnerware sets
Clothing 4,941 new clothes for about 3,460 people in Gadhada and Sajanavadar 
 
Clean-up and Repair Work
Ghela Ghat Clean Up Cleared 400 tons of rubble with a JCB and 2 tractors
Roads Repaired 150 ft of sloping road by the Gadhada’s Ghela ghat with a JCB and 2 tractors
  100 ft of Mandavdhar-Jasdan road to reopen to public transportation
  100ft of Pramukh Swami Marg along Gadhada’s Ghela River to reopen to public transportation
 
Amdavad and Other Districts
Over 11 towns and villages
Relief Work in - in Surendranagar, Sarangpur, Khambda, Bela, Khas, Kundal, Gangavada, Kapadiyadi, Rajgadh, Navi Sodhi, Juni Sodhi and other villages in Amdavad.
 
Food Distribution
Instant Food Packets 13,500 250g-food packets of sukhadi, bundi and gathiya and 2,000 packets of biscuits
Hot Meals 14,800 hot meals 3 times a day. Different items each day include Shiro, Bundi, Fulvadi, Puri, Rotli-Shak, Dar-Bhat, Mug, Batata Pova, Upma,Muthia Hot Tea, Rotla, etc.
Family Food Kit 429 kits of 21kg raw foodstuff (10-day supply) distributed per family. Includes 10kg wheat flour, 2.5kg khichadi, 5kg potatoes, 1kg sugar, 1kg vegetable oil, 200g tea, and 1 kg assorted spices.

Sepcial Focused Efforts
Since the disaster struck, BAPS has specially focused relief efforts on the hardest-hit and most inaccessible areas. In the village of Sajanavadar, near Gadhada, where 210 of the 245 houses in the village have been leveled by flood waters, BAPS began relief efforts from the start.
