Over 800 devotees celebrated the auspicious occasions
of Shri Swaminarayan Jayanti and Shri Ramnavmi with great festivity
and joy at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Sydney, on 25 March 2007 in
the presence of Pujya Kothari Swami (Mumbai).
The celebration
assembly featured traditional dances, kirtans, speeches and video presentations.
Amongst the dignitaries
who attended the celebrations were: Hon. Phillip Ruddock, Federal Attorney-General;
the Hon. Joe Tripodi, Minister for Energy, Ports and Waterways, representing
the Premier of NSW the Hon. Morris Iemma; the Lord Mayor of Parramatta
City Council, His Worship David Borger; and the Member of Parliament
for Parramatta, the Hon. Tanya Gadiel.
The assembly concluded
with the Janmotsav (birthday) arti.
