During the recent USA tour by
the Prime Minister of India, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a
special welcome assembly was held at the Jacob Javitz Center
in New York on 21 September 2003.
For this occasion, BAPS volunteers helped in the arrangements,
presented a specially composed welcome song and performed
a traditional welcome dance.
Later during the Prime Minister's stay in America, BAPS sadhus
and representatives met the Prime Minister at the Palace Hotel
in New York on 28 September.
During this meeting, the sadhus informed the Prime Minister
of the social, cultural and spiritual activities of BAPS worldwide,
and especially in America.
The Prime Minister was presented with a framed letter of blessings
from Pramukh Swami Maharaj and other mementoes.
