A mandir is a place for peace, harmony, social service and spiritualism. To help promote these ideals and values, a traditional mandir will be built in Atlanta. BAPS South East region had organized a program titled “Avasar Anandno” at the Gwinnett Center Arena in preparation for the Shilanyas Vidhi (stone laying ceremony) that would be held the next day.

BAPS youths celebrated this event through dances, speeches, and video presentations. Pujya Doctor Swami explained the necessity of mandirs, and the youths relayed true incidents that illustrated its benefits. Pujya Viveksagar Swami explained that the God-realized Saint is a living embodiment of a mandir. Video presentations educated everyone on Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s selfless service and humanitarian projects. To recognize his tireless efforts, the Governor of the State of Georgia, Mr. Sonny Perdue, had sent an official commendation to Swamishri.

Swamishri explained in his blessings that one attains the human body by the grace of God. One should be thankful to God and remember Him all the time. In addition, he also described God as the all-doer and the reason behind everything.

After Swamishri’s blessings, youths performed a vibrant and colorful dance as children with flags and balloons paraded around the whole arena.
