Sunday, August 1, 2004

On Swamishri's last full day in Houston, the Southwest Region held Samarpan Din, where they recognized the sacrifices of countless devotees in organizing and executing the Mandir Mahotsav. After Swamishri's morning puja, a special Mahapuja Vidhi was held for all these devotees to bring peace into their lives and to fulfill their inner desires.

During the evening program, the subject of how to continue sacrificing for God even after such a beautiful Shikharbaddh Mandir has been constructed was discussed through a skit. Kishores then demonstrated the samarpan of their time and energy for Swamishri by presenting a lively dance.

In his blessings, Swamishri gave further guidance on this topic by explaining that the most important thing to do after the construction of the Mandir is to take full advantage of it, and increase our understanding of our soul. "Once one has knowledge of the soul," he mentioned, "one will not desire to indulge in the pleasures of the world."
