Swaminarayan Jayanti Celebration by North America Mahila Mandal
April 04, 2010

Swaminarayan Jayanti and Ram Navami were celebrated with boundless devotion and bhakti by North America Mahila Mandal during the months of March and April, 2010. Bhajans, dances, skits, live news anchor interviews and multimedia presentations added a festive spirit to the joyous celebrations.

Balikas & Kishori’s introduced the theme of the event as “Sahajanandi Yug Palto: Ek Navo Yug-Bhaktiyug”. This was creatively depicted on stage in the form of a live telecast on Bhakti TV. Technology is used in every aspect of our lives and, as the Bhakti TV channel revealed, it is a great medium for our younger generations to use in worshiping God.

This telecast started with live dhun and prarthana followed by commercial announcements for the Women’s Conference, Gujarati classes, weather, and feature stories of Shriji Maharaj’s ideal female devotees including Ladhibai, Sonbai of Jetalpur and Zamkuba. The program was followed with live kirtan bhakti – “Kalime Sacho Satyug Aavyo”, Sarvopari samachar – with a special topic on Bhagwan Ramchandra explaining the divine glory of Ramchandraji – ideal son, Sitaji – ideal wife, Lakshmanji – ideal brother.

The excitement of the Bhakti TV channel continued with a live talk show interview with Jobanpagi and Subhashbhai showing how Bhagwan Swamianrayan in His time and today Pramukh Swami Maharaj have changed lives of people by freeing them from bad company, addictions, and taking them on the path of salvation.

The Bhakti TV channel program ended with the grand shatabdi dance “Seva na vratdhari ameto” and Swamishri’s video darshan.

Exceptional performances by balikas, kishoris, yuvatis and senior ladies kept the atmosphere of devotion and celebration festive while affording a closer look at the compassionate nature of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and the virtues of a devotee worthy of this compassion.
