For decades Swamishri has been

guiding others towards God.

Inspiring them in times of

hardship; consoling them in

times of sadness, he has been a

constant source of light in their

lives when there has been only

engulfing darkness. But what

has been his source of inspiration

over the years? How has he

managed to remain composed

during incidents of both honour

and insult? What drives him to

push himself night and day in the

service of others? Delving into

the depths of his heart we find

the source of his light...
    His Source of Light
“Why did you decide to become a sadhu?”
    Question 3
Question

Paresh Pandya1 : What is the reason behind your greatness?
Answer

Swamishri : By the grace of my God and my guru. Without their grace one cannot become great.
Question

You have met many people all over the world. Is there any one person whom you have felt is truly great and whom you have great respect for? Could you name him?
Answer

Swamishri : A Saint has respect for everyone. He does not have disrespect for anyone.
Question

When do you get angry and when are you pleased.
Answer

Swamishri : A Saint never has anger.
Question

Still, have you ever become angry by seeing someone gambling, stealing, etc.?
Answer

Swamishri : We never become angry. But we do feel that such vices are not right. Then we leave it to God... We make an effort; if we feel it is worth telling them, then we do, but in the end we leave it to God.
Question

Is it true that God and His Saint bear no prejudice against anyone?
Answer

Swamishri : It’s true. They are drawn by love, not caste or status. Lord Krishna refused the 56-course meal offered by Duryodhan and instead went to eat at Vidur’s hut. Why? Because Vidur had bhakti. Shabari had similar love. God and His Saint don’t distinguish between rich and poor. God always goes to the place belonging to he who has bhakti in his heart.
Question

Then will you come to my house?
Answer

Swamishri : Why should we have a problem in coming to your house? But let me tell you my condition. My health has deteriorated. Because I am a heart patient, the doctors forbid me to go. But when I was healthy, I have even been to the huts of untouchables. Your affection is genuine, but the circumstances are such. However, the next time there is an assembly in your area we will definitely visit your house.
