Satsang Exams

As part of the Bochasanwasi Shree Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha's multifarious socio-spiritual activities, Satsang Examinations, have been playing a fundamental role in enriching and enlightening thousands of devotees, young and old, with the knowledge of Vedic, cultural and Satsang values. Satsang Examinations was the dream of Yogiji Maharaj realized through the inspiration and efforts of Pramukh Swami Maharaj. This programme has grown and flourished over the past 27 years from a tiny seed to a giant banyan. The Satsang Examinations activity started with 56 centres at its inception in 1972 and today it has multiplied to 950 centres in India and abroad. So far, 500,000 have appeared for the graded nine-level Satsang curriculum. The first exam, Bal Satsang-1, caters to children and ultimately culminates over a period of nine years to Pragna-3, which is equivalent to the post-graduate level. The exam papers are set, conducted, and marked with strict academic standards and disciplines. The exam papers are set in three languages - Gujarati, Hindi and English. The exams in India are held annually in July whereas the overseas centres - in the UK, France, Italy, Portugal, USA, Canada, Far East, Australia, New Zealand, Middle East and Africa - conduct the exams in February.

This year we take pride and privilege in presenting Pre-Test Papers to help all examinees prepare for the main exams to be held on 20 February 2000 at our overseas centers. Coordinators are requested to make sure that these Pre-Test Papers reach all the examinees in all exam centers, so that everybody can gain from the experience of these Pre-Test Papers.

The essays asked in the three parts in the main exams of Pravesh, Parichay, Pravin and Pragna will be asked from the essays in these Pre-Test Papers only. There is also the possibility of some 'short notes' being repeated in the main papers, out of the Pre-Test Papers for the Pravesh, Parichay and Pravin exams.

The Pre-Test Papers for Bal-1 to Pragna-3 (Gujarati) and Bal-1 to Pravin (English) have been placed on this web site. The examination format is different for overseas exams. The new format for Bal-1 to Parichay has been used here.
