Ingredients:

  • 1½ tea cups gau no atto (whole wheat flour)
  • 1 teaspoon of oil
  • ghee for applying

Method:

  • mix wheat flour, oil and water and make a soft dough
  • knead well
  • divide into 8 equal sized balls
  • roll out into flat circles of 125 mm (5") diameter
  • roast on a hot griddle (tawa)
  • first lightly roast both sides then place one side directly on the fire until roti inflates into a ball
  • remove from fire and apply ghee
