20-6-1999 : Sunday (Nij Jeth Sud 7, 2055), Mumbai

  • A kishore came to Swamishri for his birthday blessings. He said, "Swami, today I want to ask you for three things. Firstly, to have firm faith in you. Secondly, to have a profound spiritual attachment (atmabuddhi) in a God communion sadhu. And thirdly, to have divyabhav (positive and divine attitude) for all sadhus and devotees."

Swamishri was pleased and blessed the kishore with two pats on his shoulders and said, "Because of the three things you have asked you will get 100% blessings of Yogiji Maharaj."

In the Sunday evening assembly Swamishri and the devotees offered prayers for the martyrs of the Kargil war. Vedic prayers for peace were sung and homage was paid to the martyrs.

24-6-1999 : Thursday (Nij Jeth Sud 11, 2055), Atladra

  • As part of summer vacation, the Amdavad Kishore Mandal had successfully organised a cricket tournament that involved all the kishores. Members of the winning and runner-up teams had
come to Swamishri for blessings. The kishores asked two interesting questions to Swamishri.

Q: Swami, what type of fielding should we do to catch your agna?
A: The Amdavad Kishore Mandal organised a cricket tournament to please Bhagwan Swaminarayan and Yogiji Maharaj. One can see from the above question that the motive of the tournament was to become spiritually conscious. Like Pujya Bhagatji Maharaj, who instantly observed the agna of Gunatitanand Swami, we too should do the same. One should have faith and trust in the Guru’s word and not doubt his words. One's faith should be like the agna of calling Girnar.

Q: Every time maya runs us out. What type of batting should we do so that we don’t get out?
A: Gunatitanand Swami has said in his talks that when one attains true knowledge one will not
get entrapped by maya. True knowledge means the knowledge of atma and Parmatma.
Because we have deh bhava (body consciousness), maya runs us out. One should have a firm resolve that no matter what difficulty or pain comes, one’s atma bhava (atma conscousness) should remain steadfast and the conviction that God is the all-doer and whatever He does is
    for one’s good.

26-6-1999 : Saturday (Nij Jeth Sud 13, 2055), Mumbai

  • A kishore (teenage devotee) asked Swamishri, "Swami, do you have any advice or suggestion for me?"
Swamishri replied, "Say the rosary, do bhajan, study hard and don’t smoke or get into any addictions."

28-6-1999 : Monday (Nij Jeth Sud 15, 2055), Atladra

  • A father and son came to seek blessings from Swamishri. The father told Swamishri to bless his son so that his nature and temperament would improve.
Swamishri to the son, "Give up your bad nature."

"He gets very angry," someone added.

Swamishri advised, "Yogiji Maharaj used to say that one should not get angry at all. One should tolerate. Read the biography of Yogiji Maharaj and you will find out how much he has tolerated insults and physical beatings from others. Swami has said one should become a sadhu, imbibe the qualities of saintliness and give up one's bad nature...

"He is very stubborn," his father added. Swamishri lovingly added, "This too you must give up. One should obey the wishes and instructions of the holy sadhu. This nature of yours will obstruct you. One has to strive and attain good qualities in life."
  Gems From Swamishri :
  • The realisation of the knowledge of atma and Parmatma cannot be attained without the association of a Gunatit sadhu. And without knowledge one cannot realise the glory of God and without glory one cannot experience happiness.
  • God and the holy sadhu discourse to us for our good. He is our true friend, our true mother and father and true Guru because he tells us the truth. He tells us even if it hurts us because he is selfless and wants to gain nothing from us.
