• When Swamishri landed at the International Airport in Harare, Zimbabwe, he was interviewed
  by a TV reporter from the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation:
  Q: What is your message for Zimbabwe?
  A: We pray to God for the progress, happiness and prosperity of the country.
  Q: What do you think are the vices and evils prevalent in humans today?
  A: The principal evils today are drugs and terrorism and the escalation in thefts and killing.
  Q: Is there any solution to this?
  A: They can be eradicated through practicing moral laws, having faith in God and associating with holy saints.

23 Aug 99: Monday , Nairobi

• A couple of letters from Rajkot describing the severe water shortage prevailing in the city were read before Swamishri. The magnitude of suffering and hardship moved Swamishri. Everyone present prayed to Swamishri to bless Gujarat with bountiful rains. Swamishri replied, "When the Lord’s murti is installed here in the mandir there will be lightning and a downpour of rain." A map of Gujarat, showing the rain-less areas, was brought before Swamishri. Swamishri sprinkled water on it and requested the sadhus: "Let us all pray to God for the rains. Maharaj will have compassion and bless the land with rains..." For five minutes Swamishri, the sadhus and devotees chanted the Swaminarayan dhun and entreated the Lord to bless the dry, parched areas of Gujarat. Even while abroad, Swamishri’s heart is empathetic for those souls suffering from the severe water shortage in Gujarat.

• Every person needs God and religion in his life. Without it life is useless.
• God has given us this human birth not to inflict terror and pain in others, but to help others.
• Anyone who endeavors under the influence of arrogance damages the society, country and its people.
• When someone claims out of egotism ‘Only I know’ then he will see faults in others.
• If you see single faults in others then you will become a repository of a thousand faults. Then even a good, pious person will become evil. And, if an evil person sees virtues in others then he will become virtuous and pious.
