      Living with Swamishri :

    1 March, 2000 Ahmedabad

    • "The Joy of Shastriji Maharaj"
Swamishri was in Ahmedabad. After having darshan of Yogiji Maharaj's murti in a shrine in the mandir pradikshana, a devotee asked Swamishri, "Bapa, there is so much joy on your face. What is the reason for this joy?"
Swamishri replied spiritedly, "The joy of Shastriji Maharaj!"
Swamishri's unbroken joy arises out of his profound realisation and attachment to Lord Swaminarayan and his guru.

    1 March, 2000 Ahmedabad

    • A Tulsi Plant:
Yesterday, Swamishri was welcomed and honored with a pot of Tulsi plant during an inaugural function of an MRI machine at the Civil Hospital. This morning Swamishri asked a sadhu where he had placed the pot of Tulsi plant.
"In your room," the sadhu replied.
"See to it that it is planted in an appropriate place in the mandir grounds. They have presented it with great love and affection. And besides leaving the plant there it will dry up and die by itself."
In the least overwhelmed by the presentation (Tulsi Plant) as a mark of honor, Swamishri's hallmark of care and affection is reflected by his appreciation and recognition of the officials' sentiments. Swamishri's care and concern that a plant should not dry up and die also shows his respect and love for the survival of plants.

12 March, 2000 Gandhinagar Sunday Assembly

    • Despite physical weakness due to illness, Swamishri expressed a wish to go to the Sunday assembly this evening. When Swamishri entered the assembly, he was welcomed by thunderous clapping from the devotees. After Thakorji's darshan, Swamishri sat on a sofa and listened to the spiritual discourse for a half hour. When the discourse concluded at 7.30 p.m., Swamishri returned to his residence and said, "I have obeyed Yogiji Maharaj's instruction (by attending the Sunday assembly). We had the opportunity of having the darshan of the devotees and in pleasing them."
Even in such a debilitated state Swamishri obeyed to the wish of Yogiji Maharaj by attending the Sunday discourse.
      Gems From Swamishri :
    • By washing two tons of soil one gets only a pinchful of pure gold, likewise, God and His holy sadhu discourse to thousands and only five become dedicated.
