    • 2 December 2001 (V.S. 2058, Kartak vad 2) Sunday, Bochasan
      After Swamishri's morning puja, the Department of Health, Gujarat Government, had organized a camp to prevent child paralysis. Swamishri was requested to launch the camp in Kheda district by the local officials. Prior to this the officials informed the congregation about the scourge of paralysis in children. Thereafter Swamishri administered the medicine into the mouths of five children and the program was continued thereafter by senior sadhus.

    • 3 December 2001 (V.S. 2058, Kartak vad 3) Monday, Bochasan
      • After his morning puja, Swamishri performed pujan of bricks for the foundation of a Hari mandir in the village of Kalamsar.
      • This morning senior sadhus ritually installed the murtis sanctified by Swamishri at the newly built Swaminarayan Mandir in the village of Bharkunda. More than 5,000 devotees attended the pratishtha occasion.

      • After his morning puja, Swamishri performed pujan of bricks for the foundation of a Hari mandir in the village of Vadadla.
      • Senior sadhus performed the murti pratishtha and inaugurated the newly built Swaminarayan Mandir in the village of Bhatpura.

    • 6 December 2001 (V.S. 2058, Kartak vad 6) Thursday, Bochasan
      Senior sadhus performed the murti pratishtha and inaugurated the newly built Swaminarayan Mandir in Khanpur.


    • 7 December 2001 (V.S. 2058, Kartak vad 7) Friday, Bharuch
      • Swamishri performed the murti pratishtha rituals (vastu-yagna) of the mandir complex. At 10:30 am, Swamishri performed the pratishtha rituals of the panchdhatu murti of Nilkanth Varni in the rang mandap of the mandir. During his blessings Swamishri spoke about the glory of Nilkanth Varni's 7-year travels. "Shriji Maharaj traveled to all the pilgrim places, then came to Gujarat and to the shores of the river Narmada. This land has been sanctified by the holy feet of Shriji Maharaj. This mandir has been created through His wish, and the wish of Shastriji Maharaj and Yogiji Maharaj and the efforts of devotees and sadhus. Whoever will come for darshan will experience peace in his heart… we have installed this murti (of Nilkanth Varni) here to remind us that Maharaj had come here during His seven-year sojourn, and to fulfil the dreams and wishes of thousands who will come here for darshan… "
      • In the evening assembly, Swamishri's 81st birthday celebration was held (according to English Calendar). Speeches and dramas showed Swamishri's work of elevating humanity. Finally Swamishri blessed the assembly.

    • 8 December 2001 (V.S. 2058, Kartak vad 8) Saturday, Bharuch
      • As part of the murti pratishtha ritual, the yagna was commenced with 2,102 couples seated around 225 yagna pits.

    • 9 December 2001 (V.S. 2058, Kartak vad 9) Sunday, Bharuch
      At 9.30 am Swamishri inaugurated the main mandir gateway and then performed the murti pratishtha.

    • 11 December 2001 (V.S. 2058, Kartak vad 11) Tuesday, Bharuch, Surat
      • At 5.45 pm Swamishri departed for Surat, arriving there at 7.20 pm.
      • After darshan, Swamishri performed the murti pratishtha ceremony for the murtis to be installed at the mandir in Sachin.

    • 12 December 2001 (V.S. 2058, Kartak vad 13) Wednesday, Surat. Bal Din
      • This morning, Swamishri performed the murti pratishtha for the murtis of the mandir at Bhandut. This was the 400th murti pratishtha ceremony performed by Swamishri.
      • The evening assembly was celebrated as 'Bal Din' in which the commitment and sacrifice of Bal Karyakars was justly appreciated.

      • In the evening assembly, a special program was presented by the kishores.

    • 15 December 2001 (V.S. 2058, Magashar sud 1) Saturday, Surat
      At 5.45 pm, following his evening walk, Swamishri went to the terrace to view the Swaminarayan Mahamantra Bicentenary procession.

    • 16 December 2001 (V.S. 2058, Magashar sud 2) Sunday, Surat
      • Swamishri participated in the ceremony for the fifth patotsav of Surat mandir.
      • In the evening, Swamishri blessed the Swaminrayan Mahamantra Bicentenary assembly.

    A Lesson in Self-Realization

      "Bapa! You forgot my name during the morning discourse. Instead of Harshad you called me Rasik," Harshadbhai stated.
      "Both names are the same! Are you Brahm or not?", Swamishri posed.
      "Yes."
      "Then whatever name you call Brahm by will do. So why are you upset! Whenever something like this happens apply 'gnan' (knowledge). Whatever that is said, whatever name you are called by or if you are told off, then always remain happy. Was it not that in some past birth you had Rasik as your name!"
      Swamishri's words awakened all with the true knowledge and nature of one's real self.

    Respect for a Pilgrim

    • 3 December 2001 (V.S. 2058, Kartak vad 3) Monday, Bochasan


      Harikrishna Patel, a youth, had returned after a pilgrimage to Chhapaiya, the birthplace of Bhagwan Swaminarayan. Harikrishna carrying his child Alok, said, "I had also taken him to Chhapaiya."
      Swamishri, touching the feet of Alok, said , "By having your darshan I have also done the pilgrimage."
      Swamishri respectfully touched the feet of a little child and showed his reverence for the birthplace of Shriji Maharaj and its pilgrims.

    The Best Birthday Present

    • 14 December 2001 (V.S. 2058, Kartak vad 30) Friday, Surat


      A devotee from Chicago came to Swamishri with his young son, Jay, who was celebrating his sixth birthday today. Jay respecfully offered panchang pranam to Swamishri and said, "Bapa, today is my birthday."
      Swamishri smiled at him and affectionately placed his hand on Jay's head to bless him.
      Jay's father asked him, "What present are going to give to Swamibapa to mark your birthday today?"
      Excitedly, Jay replied, "Bapa! from today I will not watch TV."
      Swamishri was extremely delighted to hear Jay's commitment and blessed him again, saying, "That good. your present is the best. It is a great commitment. Maharaj will be pleased. Yogiji Maharaj will also be pleased. It will bring you much wisdom and you will be able to offer worship to God."
