The
Hill and River Ghela in 1949
The hillock near the river Ghela was chosen by Bhagwan Swaminarayan for building a mandir. However, Jiva Khachar refused to part with his portion of the hillock. Therefore, Bhagwan Swaminarayan built a mandir in Dada Khachar's darbar. Over 120 years later, through the determined efforts of Shastriji Maharaj, the land was acquired. Then, within 18 months, Shastriji Maharaj built an all-marble mandir. The photographs below are of hillock and river Ghela before Shastriji Maharaj built the mandir. |
