This
site is a veritable goldmine of information on the Swaminarayan religion, with
details of its philosophy, its scriptures, activities, festivals, publications
and its worldwide network. With
regard to religion, the site has detailed life histories of Lord Swaminarayan
and each of His spiritual successors - Gunatitanand Swami, Pragji Bhakta (Bhagatji
Maharaj), Shastri Yagnapurushdas (Shastriji Maharaj), Sadhu Jnanjivandas (Yogiji
Maharaj), and currently Shastri Narayanswarupdas (Pramukh Swami Maharaj). Among its activities, details are provided
on its extensive work in moral and cultural fields, tribal and spiritual care,
medical and educational fields, environmental and social fields, and its work
in women and children's development. Hospitals,
Schools, Hostels, Diagnostic Camps, Free medicines, Mobile medical van and pure
Herbal medicines are all part of BAPS activities, conducted internationally by
fully devoted saints and volunteers. BAPS
is also well known for the cultural monument Akshardham (Gandhinagar, India) and
the Swaminarayan Hindu Mandir (Neasden, London). The Swaminarayan Hindu Mandir
of London has been recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records in 1997 and
again in their year 2000 edition. With more than 450 mandirs (temples) and
6000 centers in 45 countries, the organization is growing by leaps and
bounds under the dynamic leadership of its spiritual head, Pramukh Swami
Maharaj. |
