by the senior sadhus, the assembly climaxed with Swamishri's
blessings, "One goes to the guru to dispel ignorance
and darkness. Despite the fact that there is light outside,
one's inner self is filled with darkness. For innumerable
births one has the base instincts of lust, anger, greed, jealousy,
delusion, attachment, etc...
"The first guru, Vyasji, wrote the Purans and Mahabharat.
Likewise, the first guru in the Swaminarayan Sampraday, Gunatitanand
Swami, explained the glory of Shriji Maharaj. He revealed
the true glory and work of Shriji Maharaj ...
"Today, we find that our world has progressed tremendously
but we have not progressed within our inner selves. And that
is why we have conflict, immorality and sin. Man has attained
physical comfort and luxury, but his thoughts have become
corrupt and sinful. Consequently, one cannot desire for the
good of others. These corrupt feelings are due to the fact
that there is no inner illumination ..."
