    • 13 July 2003 (V.S. 2059, Ashadh sud 15) Sunday, Bochasan; Guru Purnima
The Guru Punam assembly commenced with bhajans and speeches by sadhus. Pujya Viveksagar Swami, Pujya Doctor Swami and Pujya Mahant Swami discoursed about the glory of the guru tradition in India and the divinity of Pramukh Swami Maharaj. The program was interlaced with bhajans and with colorful folk dances by kishores. When a light rainshower started Swamishri was requested to stop it because 35,000 devotees had assembled for the festival. Swamishri looked at the sky and the rain stopped immediately, but it poured heavily in the neighboring villages of Rudel, Dharmaj, Borsad, Dabhasi, etc.
Finally, Swamishri blessed the Guru Punam assembly, "... Generally people do not like talks related to God or satsang. We do not like going to satsang. Our senses and mind do not like satsang, it is only the jiva that likes it. One has to remove one's base instincts, worldly desires, ego and attachment for worldly things. Only when this dirt is removed can one experience peace and happiness within... I pray on this day of Guru Punam that may God remain foremost in our souls. May spiritual knowledge be consolidated in our lives. And may there be peace everywhere..."

           All-Doership of God and Guru
    • 4 July 2003 (V.S. 2059, Ashadh sud 5) Friday, Amdavad

Dr. Mangal Patel, the chairman of the State Legislative Assembly, Gujarat, came for Swamishri's darshan and blessings. On learning about the sheer expanse of services performed by Swamishri he asked in amazement, "How do you quietly and peacefully run the more than 500 mandirs and Satsang that has spread in India and abroad?"

Swamishri humbly replied, "I am not running anything. It is my guru and God who are running everything. I do not believe that I am doing something. God is the doer of everything. But when one believes that one is doing everything one becomes depressed when things don't work out properly. One should make all the efforts, then the fruits of one's actions depend upon God. And supposing one does not get success then one should firmly believe that it is for one's benefit.

"Our guruji has taught us that if you fill a pot with water and place it on your head then you will feel its burden constantly. But when you dive in the water, despite the 'tons' of water on your head, you do not feel its weight. So I am not doing anything. It is God and the guru who is doing everything.

"There is no end to pain and misery due to ego and possessiveness. So I constantly believe that God and the guru are the all doer. That is how the entire Sanstha is run..."
