           Principal Purpose
    • 6 September 2003 (V.S. Bhadarva sud 11) Saturday, Sarangpur; Jal Jhilani Festival

Every year prior to the Jal Jhilani festival, Swamishri's Thakorji, Shri Harikrishna Maharaj, is carried in a decorative palanquin in a devotional procession of sadhus and devotees in Sarangpur village. This year, a newly ornate palanquin was prepared by sadhus and brought before Swamishri. On seeing it Swamishri immediately assessed, "The seating space in the palanquin is very confined and deep. How will people have darshan of Thakorji during the procession?"

In a single glance, Swamishri perceived that the principal purpose of Thakorji's darshan in the palanquin would not be served. The devotees would not be able to have Thakorji's darshan and be blessed by His divine vision. The sadhus made the necessary changes for Thakorji's darshan.

            Dissolving Doubts and Fears
    • 12 September 2003 (V.S. 2059, Bhadarva vad 2) Friday, Sarangpur

A youth met Swamishri and said, "My sister is twenty-three years old, and several meetings regarding her marriage are not materializing. A few months back an astrologer looked at her horoscope and said she is being troubled by Mars and has Kalsarp Yog."

"His entire family are staunch satsangis, but the astrologer's statement has raised fears," someone added.

Swamishri advised, "One who is staunch does not have fear. When one has the refuge of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and gurus like Shastriji Maharaj and Yogiji Maharaj there is no need to fear one's stars. To overcome Mars and Kalsarp dosh chant Janmangal Namavali five times each day. And both you and your sister say an extra rosary to dissolve her obstacle. And also pray that she gets a good person for marriage, be able to offer devotion to God and be blessed with liberation. Tell your sister and family members to forget about the astrologer. Otherwise, they will be reminded of what he said and be troubled by it. You may confront a few obstacles, but there is no need to fear. Say the Janmangal Namavali and God will look after you."
    • The youth felt relieved and hopeful.
