    Swamishri performs the Shakotsav arti on Dev Uthi Ekadashi
    • 4 November 2003 (V.S. 2060, Kartak sud 11) Tuesday, Dholka, Purushottampura; Prabodhini Ekadashi
      • In Dholka Swamishri performed the pratishtha rituals of the canvas murtis for the hari mandir in Bhoyka
      • At 5.25 p.m., Swamishri performed arti of Thakorji at the hari mandir in Purushottampura, where an annakut of vegetables (shak ni hatdi) was arranged.
    In place of the canvas murtis, Swamishri performs the murti-pratishtha of marble murtis of Shri Akshar Purushottam Maharaj
    • 5 November 2003 (V.S. 2060, Kartak sud 12) Wednesday, Purushottampura (Radhu)
      At 10.15 a.m. the murtis at the hari mandir in Purushottampura were changed and the new marble murtis of Shri Akshar Purushottam Maharaj and canvas murtis of Guru Parampara were traditionally installed with the murti-pratishtha rituals performed by Swamishri.

    • 8 November 2003 (V.S. 2060, Kartak sud 15) Saturday, Bochasan; Dev Diwali
      An annakut had been arranged before Thakorji. After Swamishri's puja, the symbolic celebration of Swamishri's 83rd Birthday celebration commenced with a traditional dance by BAPS children and youths. The celebration was themed on Swamishri's virtues as described in the shlok "Shobho Sadhugune sada saral ne..." Sadhus spoke about Swamishri's steadfastness in observing the five moral vows prescribed for sadhus, supreme devotion to God, simple, adaptable nature and mundane detachment. Further, the senior sadhus spoke glowingly of the grace of Shastriji Maharaj and Yogiji Maharaj upon Swamishri and his untiring services from the day he was appointed as president of BAPS. The celebration was laced with bhajans and traditional dances. Finally, Swamishri addressed the gathering of 28,000 devotees.
      Like ever year, devotees also donated blood at the BAPS Blood Donation Camp and availed of the Diabetes Camp.
    Swamishri during the lunar eclipse assembly, from 5:00 a.m. till 8:35 a.m.
    • 9 November 2003 (V.S. 2060, Kartak vad 1) Sunday, Bochasan
      At 5.00 a.m. Swamishri arrived for the lunar eclipse assembly. Dhun, bhajans and reflections of Swamishri's incidents and works were sung by sadhus and senior sadhus. Finally, Swamishri blessed the assembly.
     
    • 12 November 2003 (V.S. 2060, Kartak vad 3) Wednesday, Bochasan, Mahesana
      In Bochasan Swamishri performed the murti-pratishtha rituals of murtis for the hari mandir in Umlav, Borsad sub-district.

    • 13 November 2003 (V.S. 2060, Kartak vad 4) Thursday, Mahesana, Mt. Abu
      • At 9.15 a.m. Swamishri departed from Mahesana mandir and arrived at the BAPS Chhatralay at 12.10 p.m. The last time Swamishri had visited Abu was ten years ago. He was welcomed by kids dressed in different animal costumes and a giant paper-cloth elephant. The boys performed a welcome dance and sang thal while Swamishri was having lunch.
      • In the evening, Swamishri attended an evening assembly with the Chhatralay boys and played an 'antakshari quiz'. Swamishri sang the first line of, "Dhyan dhar dhyan dhar, Dharmana putra nu..." and sang bhajans, "Thai rahyo chhe jay jay kar re..." and "Hari vina hitkari biju..."
        Thereafter children asked Swamishri questions regarding his visit to Abu.
    Swamishri takes a class and teaches the students, "Matru devo bhava..."
    • 14 November 2003 (V.S. 2060, Kartak vad 5) Friday, Mt. Abu, Sarupganj, Pindvada
      • At 10.55 a.m. Swamishri sanctified the BAPS Swaminarayan Vidyamandir Residential Primary School. The English Medium Primary School includes classes from K.G. to 5th standard. First Swamishri visited the playground where he participated with the kids who were playing football, cricket, volleyball, etc. Then Swamishri sanctified all the classrooms and conducted a class, "Say Om Matru devo bhavah, Pitru devo bhavah..." After explaining its meaning Swamishri emphasized that all should study hard and increase their faith in God. Finally, Swamishri wrote a lesson for all children on the blackboard, "Study properly. Do not be lazy. Offer prayers and do bhajan regularly."
      • Swamishri visited the Sanstha's land in near by Salgaon. Before departing in the evening a group photo session with children was arranged.
      • At 6.45 p.m. Swamishri arrived at Sarupganj village where the stone work for the Akshardham project is going on. After observing the stone carvings, Swamishri blessed the craftsmen in an assembly.
      • Swamishri departed from Sarupganj and arrived at Pindvada at 7.20 p.m. A welcome assembly was held and Swamishri praised the effort and skill of the volunteers and craftsmen.
    • 15 November 2003 (V.S. 2060, Kartak vad 6) Saturday, Pindvada, Sivera, Jadoli, Pindvada
      • At 10.00 a.m. Swamishri departed from Pindvada and arrived at another work site in Sivera village, 12 km away. Swamishri observed the stone carvings and sculptings. As he walked through the workshop, Swamishri showered flower petals and blessed the artisans. Thereafter he addressed the assembly of craftsmen in Hindi.
      • Swamishri stopped over at Jadoli village where the mandir stone sculpting projects for BAPS mandirs are in progress. On returning to Pindvada, Swamishri visited the Sanstha's workshops.
      • At 7.00 p.m. Swamishri presided over a public satsang assembly in the town center and blessed the assembly in Hindi.
     
         
       
       
           Free for a Child
    • 11 November 2003, (V.S. 2059, Kartak vad 2) Tuesday, Bochasan

      A young boy called Yogi asked Swamishri, "Bapa, you are always busy all day. When are you free?"

      "Do you see me free during the day?" Swamishri asked lovingly.

      "No. But I would like you to say yes or no," Yogi insisted.

      "Whenever you come I'm free," Swamishri replied.

      "When you are free what do you think about?" Yogi enquired.

      "I chant God's name, do bhajan, write letters and bless the devotees."

      Then Yogi offered a donation to Thakorji. Swamishri blessed him and instructed, "Study well. Do not fall into the habit of addictions. Serve your parents. And do satsang."

      Swamishri gave prasad and blessed Yogi.
     
         
       
         
     

    To please Bhagwan Swaminarayan and Guru Pramukh Swami Maharaj children, youths and senior devotees perform austerities, pilgrimages or other devotional means. The spiritual endeavors performed by the devotees during Swamishri's visit to the local centers are congratulatory and worthy of recognition. It also reflects Swamishri's divinity for inspiring such spiritual efforts in children, teenagers and devotees.

    8 November 2003, Bochasan
    On the occasion of Punam and symbolic celebration of Swamishri's 83rd birthday celebration a large number of devotees had pilgrimaged by foot to Bochasan.

    • From Atladra 3 sadhus and 18 youths walked 50 km.
    • From Nondhana 25 devotees walked 72 km.
    • From Vasna (Khambhat region) 60 devotees walked 35 km.
    • From Kayavarohan 33 devotees walked 75 km.
    • From Vadodara 55 devotees walked 55 km.
    • From Ambada (Padra region) 40 devotees walked 60 km.
    • From Latipura (Padra region) 35 devotees walked 45 km.
    • From Dali 35 devotees walked 50 km.
    • From Boriavi 8 devotees walked 40 km.
    • From Narayan Lat devotees walked 50 km.
    • From last 26 years 18 youths have been cycling 111 km from Mirsapura to Bochasan.

    11 November 2003, Bochasan

    • Six kishores and kishoris of Bochasan observed a waterless fast (nirjala upvas) for 108 hours and 20 BAPS volunteers and 50 women devotees observed a waterless fast for 83 hours.

    12 November 2003, Bochasan

    • Fourteen youths cycled 30 km from Khambhat.
