    Swamishri is traditionally welcomed with an auspicious purna-kumbh
    • 15 December 2003 (V.S. 2060, Maghshar vad 6) Monday, Kolkata, Andul, Kolkata, Chennai
      At 8.20 p.m. Swamishri arrived in Chennai. On arriving at the hari mandir, four Telugu Brahmins traditionally welcomed Swamishri with recitations from the Vedas. They presented an auspicious amrut kalash to Shri Harikrishna Maharaj and then to Swamishri. After the ritual, Swamishri entered the mandir and attended a brief satsang assembly.

    • 16 December 2003 (V.S. 2060, Maghshar vad 7) Tuesday, Chennai
      Prior to his morning puja at the C.U. Shah Bhavan hall, Swamishri went for Thakorji's darshan. A few South Indian Brahmins chanted the ‘Purushsukta' with gentle tune of the Swaminarayan dhun being played on the nadswaram.
      Pujya Viveksagar Swami commenced his discourse on the Kathopanishad during the evening assembly at the C.U. Shah Bhavan hall.
       
     
    • 17 December 2003 (V.S.2060, Maghshar vad 8) Wednesday, Chennai
      After the evening discourse on the Kathopanishad by Pujya Viveksagar Swami, satsangi youths of Chennai performed a drama ‘Aj Sudhre Avtikal'. Swamishri blessed the assembly providing solutions to today's family problems.
       
    Swamishri at the renowned eye hospital - Shri Shankar Netralay with Dr. Badrinath and Dr. K. N. Patel
    • 19 December 2003 (V.S.2060, Maghshar vad 10) Friday, Chennai
      At 10.30 a.m. Swamishri visited ‘Shankar Netralay', one of the finest eye hospitals in India. The chairman and trustee, Dr S.S. Badrinathan, welcomed Swamishri. After sanctifying the hospital, Dr. Badrinathan checked Swamishri's eyes and said they were in good condition. Thereafter Swamishri blessed the hospital staff and doctors in an assembly.

    • 20 Dcember 2003 (V.S. 2060, Maghshar vad 11 ) Saturday, Chennai
      • A women's convention was held in the afternoon at the C.U. Shah Bhavan. A cultural program was presented by satsangi balikas, kishoris and yuvatis of Chennai. Shri Harikrishna Maharaj was honored by the women's wing. Dr Sarojini Varadappan, author of ‘The Concept of Social Service in the Philosophy of Shree Swaminarayan', was felicitated by the BAPS Women's Wing. An international seminar on ‘Role of Women in Social Services' was also held.
      • In the evening satsang assembly, Shri Harikrishna Maharaj was honored by the devotees. Then from 9.00 p.m. to 11.30 p.m. a kirtan bhakti program was presented by BAPS sadhus.


         
     
    • 21 December 2003 (V.S. 2060, Maghshar vad 13 ) Sunday, Chennai
      Swamishri performed the symbolic patotsav rituals of pujan and arti of Thakorji in the hari mandir. One hundred and fifty devotees participated in the mahapuja ritual.
       
    Swamishri blesses the seminar on 'Integration of Philosophy in Life' organized by BAPS at the University of Madras
    • 22 December 2003 (V.S. 2060, Maghshar vad 14) Monday, Chennai
      At 3.30 p.m., a seminar on ‘Integration of Philosophy in Life' was held in Madras University. The seminar was sponsored by the BAPS and University of Madras. Renowned scholars like Dr Narsimhachari, Dr K.K.A. Venkatachari, Pujya Viveksagar Swami, Pujya Shrutiprakash Swami and Prof. Janak Dave addressed an audience of 27 Sanskrit Scholars. In conclusion, Swamishri honored the pundits and addressed the assembly.
       
    At the Mahabalipuram Mandir
    • 23 Decembner 2003 (V.S. 2060, Maghar vad 30) Tuesday, Chennai
      Swamishri visited the historic Mahabalipuram mandir.
       




    • 25 December 2003 (V.S. 2060, Posh sud 2) Thursday, Coimbatore
      • Swamishri performed the yagna rituals on the eve of the murti-pratishtha ceremony. Thereafter he performed puja and arti of the deities and blessed the assembly.
      • From 4.10 p.m. to 5.45 p.m., a procession of the deities was carried out on the streets of Coimbatore.
      • At 7.00 p.m. Swamishri arrived at the Gujarati Samaj Bhavan for the evening satsang assembly. Members of 35 Gujarati organisations honored Swamishri.

    • 26 December 2003 (V.S. 2060, Posh sud 4) Friday, Coimbatore
      Shri Vishnubhai Bhatt built the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir as a top floor of his bungalow. Swamishri performed the murti-pratishtha ceremony of Shri Akshar Purushottam Maharaj, Shri Radha Krishna Dev, Shri Tirupati Balaji, Shri Hanumanji, Shri Ganapatiji and Guru Parampara. After performing pujan and arti of the murtis, Swamishri addressed the assembly, “Sometimes you think that if you go to mandir then what will happen to my business? But God worries about that. Because when you come for darshan God feels, that since he has come to Me, I must look after him. God takes care of your business, job or farm and everything. God has taken care of the social responsibilities of His great devotees.”
