On Thursday 6 April 2006, about 400 devotees were present at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Johannesburg, South Africa, to celebrate the festival of Shri Hari Jayanti and Ramnavmi.

In the celebration assembly which began at 8.00 pm the kishore mandal presented a dialogue in which the divine characteristics of both Bhagwan Swaminarayan and Shri Rama were highlighted. Yuvaks presented an excellent recital of the main verses of Tulsidas’s Ramcharitmanas. In addition, there were speeches and traditional dances by balaks.

The celebration concluded with a grand Janmotsav arti at 10.10 pm, the time of Bhagwan Swamianrayan’s birth.
