At the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Nairobi on Sunday 23 May 2010, 75 BAPS kishores and kishoris participated in a collective Vedic mahapuja ceremony to pray for success in their forthcoming exams.

The main rituals were performed by the sadhus, while the youths, all students studying various courses from grade 8 to grade 13 (age 18), also performed the rituals. This special prayer assembly provided the students with great peace of mind and confidence at a time when tensions can run high.

After the auspicious ceremony, Tapovatsal Swami guided the students on how to progress in life through a good education by relating inspiring examples of great achievers. He also explained the importance of faith in and prayer to God to help one achieve one’s goals in life. The students left with the message that prayer and effort will bring success and peace of mind.

Finally, all the students offered abhishek and prayers to the murti of Nilknath Varni, the ideal role model for the kishores and kishoris.

They all felt motivated to sincerely prepare for their upcoming exams.
