Day
During the special Kishore Day assembly in the evening,
the Kishores performed a folk dance and a drama reflecting
the challenges that satsangi Kishores face in society. Swamishri's
blessings infused moral strength in the Kishores.
550 Kishores and Kishories were present during the Kishore
Day program. Thereafter Swamishri attended the Shikshapatri
discourse (parayan) by Viveksagar Swami.

Bhalej, Anand
At 10.55 a.m. Swamishri arrived in Bhalej village. After
performing pujan and arti of murtis at the Swaminarayan
Mandir, Swamishri blessed the assembly and returned to Anand.

Kanajari, Nadiad. Raksha Bandhan
- The 5-day
program on the Shikshapatri concluded this morning.
The history and significance of Raksha Bandhan was narrated
by Viveksagar Swami. Swamishri finally blessed the devotees
and sanctified rakhis were distributed to everyone.
- At 6.50 p.m., Swamishri
arrived in Kanajari. After performing Thakorji's pujan
and arti at the Swaminarayan mandir, he blessed the
audience and departed for Nadiad.

August 2001 (V.S 2057, Shravan vad 2) Monday, Nadiad
Swamishri
visited the historic place where Bishop Heber had met Shriji
Maharaj. He also saw the under construction of 'Swaminarayan
Smruti Mandir' by BAPS nearby, that will become a memorial
to the historic meeting and the life and message of Shriji
Maharaj.

September 2001 (V.S. 2057, Sharavan Vad 3) Tuesday, Nadiad
At 5.00 pm, Swamishri bathed the murti of Harikrishna Maharaj
in a column of rain water gushing from a terrace, in appreciation
for the good monsoon this year. Thereafter Swamishri bathed
in the rain water (See photo story).

Janmashtami Festival
The Janmashtami Festival commenced at 8.00pm. The 4-hour
program was interlaced with speeches, bhajans and drama.
Initally Viveksagar Swami spoke on the divine lila of
Shri Krishna. The youths then enacted incidents from the
life of Shri Krishna (Krishna Lila). After a bhajan Mahant
Swami addressed the assembly and finally Swamishri blessed
the congregation. After performing arti at 12 midnight,
Swamishri rocked Thakorji in a hindolo amidst the festive
bhajans sung by sadhus. More then 5,000 devotees had attended
the festival.
