God for the Plentiful Rains this Monsoon Season
For the last two consecutive years, Gujarat had been reeling under a severe drought due to a total failure in monsoon rains. Despite the massive and appreciative mobilization of relief work by the state government and BAPS, if the rains had failed this year then human suffering and death of livestock would have scarred Gujarat on a massive scale. The state would have been devastated agriculturally and economically. Swamishri's constant prayers to Shriji Maharaj for the monsoon rains during his puja, while engaged in darshan of Thakorji and in his routine walks were generously answered. On 7 August 2001, it was raining quite heavily in Nadiad. Swamishri desired to thank God for the rains. First, out of profound devotion and appreciation, Swamishri bathed Harikrishna Maharaj beneath a column of rain water. He appreciated Harikrishna Maharaj for blessing Gujarat with plentiful rains. Swamishri also held the murti of Harikrishna Maharaj above his head to be blessed with the sanctified water. Then he offered prayers to Shriji Maharaj to bless the remaining water scarcity areas of Gujarat, Saurashtra and all regions of India and the world with rains to fill the rivers, wells, lakes and dams for the entire year. Swamishri then sprinkled the sanctified water on the sadhus, parshads and devotees. |
