  • 16 October 2007, Mumbai
    At 10.32 am Swamishri’s flight landed at Sahara International Airport, Mumbai. Pujya Mahant Swami and Kothari Swami and Abhayswarup Swami welcomed Swamishri with garlands. It took an hour to reach the mandir in Dadar and after his ritual bath Swamishri performed his puja.

    Swamishri performed the murti-pratishtha rituals of pujan and arti for the BAPS hari mandirs in Kandivali (Mumbai) and Goregaon (Mumbai), shila pujan of shikharbaddh mandir for Nagpur, foundation-stone ceremony for the hari mandir in Malad and a student hostel in Kharghar. The main ceremony today was the foundation-stone laying ceremony of ‘Pramukh Sadan’, a residential and utility centre, to be built on the mandir complex. The next morning Swamishri departed for Gondal. The flight landed at Rajkot airport. Kothari Yogiswarup Swami and other sadhus welcomed Swamishri with garlands. Thereafter Swamishri headed by car towards Gondal. While passing through the streets of Rajkot devotees honoured Swamishri by showering rice grains and flowers and igniting fire crackers. On arriving in Gondal the students of BAPS Gurukul showered flower petals on Swamishri’s car. Devotees proclaimed jais and bowed humbly as Swamishri’s car entered through Akshar Dwar into the mandir precincts. Kothari Gnanprasad Swami welcomed Swamishri with a garland.
  • 25 October 2007, Gondal; Sharad Punam Celebration
    The 222nd birthday celebration of Aksharbrahman Gunatitanand Swami was celebrated in Swamishri’s presence. The mammoth assembly commenced at 7.00 pm. The stage decoration was themed on the BAPS Centenary celebrations. The centenary logo, giant cut-outs of Atlanta and Toronto BAPS mandirs along with a replica of a globe and Akshar Deri formed a giant, spectacular stage backdrop. The celebration programme consisted of speeches, dances and bhajans. The programme was as follows:

    Atmatrupt Swami spoke on Swamishri’s satsang vicharan abroad.
    Balaks and kishores performed a traditional dance.
    Siddheshwar Swami spoke on Gunatitanand Swami.
    Second arti was performed by devotees.
    Narayanmuni Swami announced the BAPS Centenary Celebration programme and invitation to all.
    Dr Swami spoke on how to celebrate the centenary.
    Third arti was performed.
    Balaks and Kishores presented highlights of ‘Century of BAPS’ on stage.
    Mahant Swami addressed the assembly.
    Senior sadhus honoured Swamishri with garlands.
    Kishores performed a traditional dance.
    Finally Swamishri blessed the celebration assembly, “The festival of Sharad Punam has been celebrated here ever since the mandir was built. Yogiji Maharaj always celebrated this festival here in Gondal every year.

 
   
     
 

To please Bhagwan Swaminarayan and Guru Pramukh Swami Maharaj children, youths and senior devotees perform austerities, pilgrimages or other devotional means. The spiritual endeavors performed by the devotees during Swamishri's visit to the local centers are congratulatory and worthy of recognition. It also reflects Swamishri's divinity for inspiring such spiritual efforts in children, teenagers and devotees.

      16 October 2007, Mumbai

  • Niteshbhai Kalyani (Borivali) observed a 150-hour liquid fast, Nikunj Pathak, Viraj Kothari, Viraj Padhariya, Vikram Shinde, Jagdish Motke, Yash Bhinde (all from Ghatkopar) and Keyur Ponda (Borivali) observed a liquid fast for 100 hours.

  • Harshil Parekh (8 yrs), Vivek Patel (9 yrs), Piyush Patel (10 yrs), Parth Patel (14 yrs), Kunal Mistry (17 yrs), Dinkar Patil (17 yrs), Mitesh Patel (21 yrs), Ronak Patel (23 yrs), Dilipbhai Desai (51 yrs), Mansi Parikh (14 yrs), Roshni Patel (17 yrs), Hansaben Patel (32 yrs), Shilpaben Patel (33 yrs), Yogitaben Patel (35 yrs), Sejalben Parekh (38 yrs) and Bhavnaben Patel (54 yrs), all pilgrimaged 450 kilometres from Vadodara to Mumbai by foot for Swamishri’s health.
  • One sadhu from Sankari observed a liquid fast for 200 hours and another sadhu observed a
    liquid fast for 100 hours.

       21 October 2007, Mumbai

  • 30 devotees pilgrimaged on foot from Vikroli to the mandir.

        22 October 2007, Gondal

  • Many sadhus, parshads and sadhaks observed vrat, fast and performed austerities to welcome Swamishri. One sadhu (Amrutswarup Swami) observed a waterless fast for 100 hours. Two more sadhus observed a waterless fast for 86 hours and 62 hours respectively. One sadhu (Kirtanpriya Swami) observed dharna-parna for three months, and three more sadhus observed dharna-parna for one month. Two sadhus observed liquid fasts for 27 days, three sadhus observed liquid fasts for 11 days.
       Volunteers of Youth Training Centre Gaurangbhai (Junagadh), Mulshankarbhai (Bhavnagar), Pradipbhai Pandya (Bhavnagar) and Kaushikbhai Bhanderi (Bhadra) observed waterless fasts for 86 hours.

        24 October 2007, Gondal

  • Swamishri blessed 12 youths who had pilgrimaged 600 km on cycle from Kudiyana. Gandubhai observed a liquid fast for 10 days. A sadhu from Bhuj observed a fast for 100 hours.

        25 October 2007, Gondal

  • 100 devotees from Surendranagar pilgrimaged 140 km by foot. 226 devotees and 7 sadhus from Junagadh pilgrimaged on foot covering a distance of 69 km.

        27 October 2007, Gondal

  • 4 devotees from Rajkot pilgrimaged on foot. 15 devotees pilgrimaged on foot from the suburb of Sahajanand Para.

         28 October 2007, Gondal

  • More than 1551 male and female devotees from Rajkot in the age group of 7 to 67 years pilgrimaged 38 km on foot to commemorate the Centenary of BAPS. Seven sadhus also joined in the pilgrimage.
