Suresh is an exuberant youth from Botad. He descends from a devout and dedicated family that has served most sincerely since the times of Shastriji Maharaj.
Sadly, Suresh is slightly physically retarded and finds it extremely difficult to speak clearly. Nevertheless, what he may lack in way of words, he more than makes up for by way of smiles and animated expressions.
During Swamishri's stay in Sarangpur, the highlight of Suresh's day is in the morning when he stands besides the Hanuman-Ganpati shrines, eagerly waiting for Swamishri to descend from the mandir stairs on his way to the Rang Mandap. And every day, exactly on cue, he calls out the Jay Naad in full cry - albeit in his own distinctly vibrant manner. Swamishri invariably responds with matching enthusiasm - in more ways than one.
Today, Suresh is holding a tamburo - a single-stringed musical instrument. As Swamishri comes, he starts plucking away and mumbling 'Swaminarayan… Swaminarayan…' He then offers the tamburo to Swamishri, gesturing him to do the same. Swamishri complies graciously, and begins to pluck the instrument and chant 'Swaminarayan… Swaminarayan…'
On his way out of the Rang Mandap, Swamishri sees Suresh seated with the tamburo, and smilingly acknowledges this simple youth's devotion.

The Defence Minister of India, Mr. George Fernandes, was welcomed by Swamishri during his personal visit to Sarangpur. After a dialogue, Swamishri honors Mr. Fernandes with a shawl and explains to him the glory of Shri Harikrishna Maharaj. (See detailed News report)
